It is almost impossible to imagine medical care without computer support. Today, computer-assisted processes, systems and appliances are used routinely for diagnosis and treatment in all areas of healthcare. They are also steadily gaining importance in the fields of preventive medicine, rehabilitation and help for the disabled. In clinical research and administration computers already have a long tradition. Their use makes it possible to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of virtually all processes in the healthcare sector. The special exhibition on Computer. Medicine aims to give a vivid demonstration of the opportunities and limitations associated with the use of computers in medicine, above all for the following applications:

> Responsibility for maintaining and improving health
> Effective protection, timely diagnosis and non-invasive treatment of illness
> Long-term rehabilitation from the results of illness, support and care of the elderly and the disabled, in particular in their home environments.
